Little Man and School

Yesterday we went to an open house at the preschool so V could see where he was going to go to school. He explored all of the different play things in the classroom and outside.

And today was his first day of 4 year old preschool. Really? Can he really be old enough for school? It's very strange at home having only one child there. There's not so much yelling and fighting! E keeps asking where R and V are, though. He kept asking me if I was going to take him and leave. I think he thought I would just drop him off and let him go in like R does. I told him that I will take him in and then leave for a couple of hours. He had his name tag this morning and when we got to school, it wasn't in his bag. I thought for sure we'd have a melt down....but I said he could get another one and we didn't have a melt down. Whew!! He knew right where his bag hook was and he was slightly hesitant at first. He turned to see if we were leaving and then went and played. I haven't had any phone calls yet so everything must be fine. So far, there have been no major meltdowns about going to school with 2 out of 3 kids so hopefully E will be fine when she gets there.

Such a cute little man!! I'm so happy that he was excited for school!

Fun at Grandparents

A couple of weeks ago we went down to Hubby's parents so he could put a new roof on their porch. We were down there from Thursday thru Sunday and these are a few photos of some of the things we did.

V likes to go 4 wheeling. No, he's not riding it by himself....he's just sitting on it waiting for someone to give him a ride.

We took R's dance costumes down so I could get her pics done (which did not happen that weekend.) and had taken the makeup, too. She snuck the makeup out and made herself beautiful!! The little sneak!!

We hung out at the cabin at the lake one day and the kids went fishing. R caught a pretty big fish.

This is the sun setting one night. It was very colorful that night. Beautiful!

It was a long weekend and we were glad to be home after going to the zoo that Sunday. Zoo pics coming soon!!

First Day of 1st Grade

R's first day of first grade was on Tuesday. I can't believe I have a first grader! She was so excited on Monday that she couldn't get to sleep that night! You'd a thought it was Christmas around here or something!! The first 2 days they got out early for teacher work days so they didn't get into the full swing of things until Thursday. So the first day she came home and said she was bored because they had to read too much. I told her they weren't on their regular schedule because it was only a half day and the first day and it would get better. I think she was highly disappointed in her first day after all that excitement. But the second day got better and the third day, which was a full day, was even better. I do believe that she came home the first day of Kindergarten and said she was bored too. I wonder if it will be like this every year?? Probably!! I will have to try and remind her next year that the first day will probably be kind of boring.

I've seen all kinds of first day of school photos and grade photos of kids all over blogland and I thought it would be nice to have all of her info on her picture to remember it. We were in the sun so it was kid of bright but it turned out pretty cute.

6 Years Old!!

We have had a busy summer and now school has started and things are going to get even busier! We've been to the county fair, state fair, zoo, Grandparents and family reunion. I haven't sewn much this last month because my sewing machine needs fixed. I'm getting antsy to sew again and R and V have been bugging me to finish their quilts and I want to start on Christmas gifts. I have several in mind that I have found to make and I think they will be well liked! I took pictures of the 3 kids together and dance pictures and R's 6 year pictures, which I'm posting today. I will get the others up here soon. I've also got lots of pictures of some of the things that we did this summer. We had fun and I will also be posting those soon.

So here are R's 6 year pics that I took. I cannot believe she is 6 now and just started 1st grade!! She is growing up so much and has lost 2 teeth so far. She is growing to be such a beautiful, bright, caring, fun and active little girl!! She is about ready to start dance and soccer here in a couple of weeks and she was so excited to start school. I'm so glad she likes it. She likes me to take her pictures and she takes such beautiful pictures! These are just a few of my favorites:

I love this rope one above. It is so like her to be climbing on something!!

I absolutely love this picture above! It is my favorite of them all! I think I will have it enlarged and modge podge it to a canvas.

So that is my baby girl growing up! These turned out beautifully. I'm so glad she likes to have her picture taken! I love you baby girl!
